Four hot male acrobats comically playing Greek gods, full of sexual innuendo and wacky, sacrilegious scenarios. Hercules (Callan Harris), Dionysus (Jordan Twartz), Apollo (Thomas Gorham) and Cupid (Liam Dummer) don’t take anything too seriously in this adults-only circus romp.

With fabulous skills on display and a cheeky sense of humour to boot, it’s hardly a surprise that this show has been touring virtually non-stop for several years. This is the third season running in the Melbourne Fringe, although this time Godz is in a black box theatre at Circus Oz rather than in a tent.

The venue lacks the circus vibes of a tent and the props and costumes are still pretty lo-fi, but Godz continues  to please audiences doing what it does best. And what it does best are sexually-charged circus shenanigans.

It’s rude and flirtatious, with plenty of silliness and a lot of excellent physical prowess. The boys dress as nuns when Hercules is condemned to the underworld and a threesome on the aerial rope ensues. That’s just one of many high-level acts interjected with mayhem and a queer sensibility.

There are naked bums, acro-balance that puts heads in risqué places and a funny scene in which the only costumes are metal plates that keep swapping from person to person. Only thing is that there aren’t enough plates to go around!

What keeps Godz from not getting too corny is the high level of acrobatics. Each character has a speciality act including diavolo, break dancing, hand balancing and aerial straps. The group work threaded throughout also relies on multitasking (three-person stack-ups, multiple people on the aerial rigs at once, group balancing routines)

With such a combination of hilarity and skill, not to mention hot bodies in skimpy gladiator-wear, Godz is basically a home run.

At this point, it's on autopilot ... and still cruising along in comfort.

    Heathers The Musical
Capturing the essence of its predecessor, Heathers The Musical is an absurdly comic production that doesn’t just walk the line of polite society but plans to blow it all up with reckless abandon.

This Glass Menagerie is top shelf, and while blessed with an extraordinary cast and the highest of production values, it will not meet with everyone’s measure of how this play should be staged.

Quirks of the source – and of the environment that sustains it – are cleanly exposed in a high-energy hour of physical comedy, delivered with moments of avian grace.

The script is based on a true story, although this dramatisation can feel somewhat contrived, with important assertions not interrogated, and credibility stretched as a result.
